What is Art Clay?
Art Clay is a type of clay made of pure silver powder, water and blinders (a bonding agent).
Once art clay Silver is dried, it becomes hard like plaster, enabling you to carve it with a file and carving tool.
Even after drying, Art Clay Silver may be changed back to clay with the addition of water.
Leftover pieces and powder resulting from filing process may be recycled as clay or paste leaving no waste.
After firing, Art clay Silver becomes pure silver (99.9%)
and the length of the finished piece shrinks about 8-9 % compared to the dried clay.
Location
All my courses take place in my home or other wise stated next to the course title.
I live in Carisbrooke in a very spacious Georgian House which is hidden away in a big garden surrounded by large green trees, so you will be learning in a pleasant and friendly environment. The workshops operate with only a small number of students (maximum eight) so you would receive plenty of individual tutor support.
Lunch time
There are two excellent pubs in the village and there is a village shop which sells sandwiches and hot pies, or you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch and eat in the conservatory or garden.
Parking
Moro House has long drive can which can accommodate many cars.
Accommodation
There is B&B guesthouse accommodation in the village
contact me for details.
